The Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University received on Wednesday, Shawwal 20, 1447 AH, corresponding to April 8, 2026, a delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The delegation included Mr. Osama Al-Zahrani, Senior Market Development Expert, and Mr. Ziyad Al-Anazi, Director of the Local Content Department, to review the current and future capabilities and technologies that the center is working on in the fields of research, development, and innovation.
The delegation was received by His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Dr. Raid bin Abdullah Al-Yousef. The visit began with an introductory presentation covering the center's journey, its most prominent technologies, projects, and products, as well as the strategic partnerships, awards, and achievements it has accomplished.
During the visit, the two sides discussed a number of opportunities for research and technical cooperation, which included utilizing the center's testing room and developing unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) structures, contributing to the enhancement of innovation and the development of technical products.
His Excellency the Director of the Research and Development Center, Dr. Thamer Al-Mneef, and the center's staff also accompanied the delegation on a tour of the center's laboratories, during which they reviewed a number of research projects and products that reflect the advanced research capabilities possessed by the center.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation praised the advanced infrastructure and distinguished research competencies possessed by the center, stressing the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of research, development, and innovation, in a way that contributes to supporting the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and enhancing the knowledge and technical economy in the Kingdom.
