Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, hosted the "Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University Forum for Research, Development, and Innovation" on Tuesday, 19 Shawwal 1444 AH, corresponding to May 9, 2023. The forum, held at the university's main theater in Al-Kharj, was themed "National Aspirations and Priorities for Global Competitiveness and Leadership". Its objective was to enhance and bolster the research, development, and innovation system, fostering its growth to drive economic development and national prosperity. The forum featured a key dialogue session on the role of research and development in universities in achieving national goals, led by Dr. Rami bin Khalil Niazi, Executive Director of Operations at the Research, Development and Innovation Development Authority. Additionally, two workshops were conducted with the participation of numerous experts and specialists. The first, titled "Intellectual Property Rights in Universities", was presented by Mr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Asim, Executive Director of Policies and Legislation at the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. The second, "Successful Transformation Strategies for Technology Transfer Management to Enhance Academia-Industry Cooperation", was led by Dr. Thamer Almoneef, Director of the Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam University. The event also marked the inauguration of the first phase of the university's research and development laboratory by the University President, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hilal Al-Talhi. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest tools and services, aligning with the sector's ambitions and enhancing the Kingdom's knowledge economy.
